Introducing Serat, the medium contrast flared serif font family created by Wahyu Sudrajad Adi Wibowo. Serat is a unique blend of classic typefaces, heavily influenced by the early stages of Latin-based handwriting. The font name, Serat, was chosen from the Javanese word for writing, which is fitting considering its diverse range of features. Some of the unique features of Serat include Carolingian-style alternates for select letters (a, e, f, g, t), a separated stylistic set for the long 's' and long left leg 'x,' and an alternative ampersand. Additionally, Serat offers discretionary ligatures for all caps titling, standard ligatures, and both tabular and proportional figures for lining and old-style numerals.
